Anyone been fishing Minima 4 guides with light mono - 4# or 6# test? Have you noticed more line wear than normal or is the performance good?
Thanks, Marc Re: Minima 4's and Light Mono

I've used 6lb on the Minimas and see no problems whatsoever.

I've fished 2# and 4# mono on Minima guides for 12 years now and not had any problems with line wear. While I was with Pure Fishing we used Minima guides on thousands of Fenwick Ultra Light rods that were rated 2-6 Lb. Test . We never had any comments from fisherman about increased line wear. Excellent to hear. I have had no issues with them on med-lite and heavier rods. This year I am expanding their use up to musky rods, and with this info will use them on UL's too.

I've used them with 2, 4, and 6 lb mono and light braids also (5-6lb). No problems so far, I love them. Re: Minima 4's and Light Mono

If there is any problem with Minima 4's its with plastic bobber stops. The stops tend to 'hang' more than when using the equivalent internal diameter ceramic type guides. Just go up one or two sizes problem solved and its still lighter than a smaller cermic so no problem. Re: Minima 4's and Light Mono

Minimas are great if you don't use bobber stops. I have since switched to ceramic micros and they work a lot better. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
