tinted Permagloss over white blank

Has anyone here ever re-finished a white blank using tinted Permagloss to change the blank color? If so, and if you have photos, I would love to see some, as I am considering such a project myself and am curious to see what results can be achieved. If you don't want to post them on here, you can email them to me. I would be most grateful. I tried searching the photo archives here but didn't have much luck.

Thanks,
Bryon

I have, and you'll never achieve an opaque finish. It will simply be tinted and very translucent.

I was able to use spray paint over an old blank to change the color. I painted it then re-finished over the paint with flex-coat. I was expecting the paint to crack when the rod flexed but it worked great. There was no change in the action of the rod that I could tell.

Thanks to all who replied. Tom, I.was figuring that what you described would likely be the case. I'm pretty sure this is an old Shakespeare Wonderod that I have. I.had originally thought I would try to pretty it up with a new color of finish, fancy reel seat and guides, etc, but in the end I decided to preserve its "retro" look: I'm stripping the old finish off, refinishing with untinted Permagloss, and giving it a plain black aluminum reel seat, cigar grip, black single foot snake guides with red wraps and black trim bands. Should be pretty neat when its done. Thanks again for your help.
