guide location chart for ice rods

Would a "traditional" location chart work for ice rods or possibly a scaled down version. Seems the geometry would be the same. I am using a try it and see how it looks approach. I don't think its that critical seeing your not casting only stress from fighting the fish. Just was wondering. New to all this but still want to build them right. Thank you. Chip,
Put one taller guide on for a butt guide to keep the reel from causing a jerking motion when you reel in line. Put about two or three more small guides down the rod and you should be set to go. If you are going to be in a shelter, you can have smaller guides for the running guides. If you are going to be fishing without a shelter, so you have to worry about guide icing, you want to keep the guides larger. Take care Roger Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
