Hello,
I ordered mixing cups, thinking there was only one kind...apparently I was wrong...will mixing cups with little nubs (for lack of a more technical term) around the inside of the bottom rim interfere with the mixing action of a PAC bay mixer and the steel mixing plug? The cups fit in the mixer, but I'm worried that the epoxy won't mix completely. Thanks, Ken Re: Mixing cups

Try it without any epoxy and see if the nubs interfere with the mixing ball/bar.

I agree on the cups from the grocery store.
I go to the deli in the store and pick up a couple of bags of cups. They charge me about $2 for 400 cups. Roger Re: Mixing cups

Do any of these cups have release agent or silicone from the molding process? "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." Mark Twain John in Wethersfield, CT Re: Mixing cups

Good point, I had problems with that (back in the early eightys) and since then ONLY use aluminum foil mixing cups. Mold release transfered from the mixing cup to the finnish and caused it to "fish-eye". So be carefull where you get your mixing cups from! Re: Mixing cups

I have bought "deli" 2 oz serving cups from many different locations and have never had an issue with any sort of contamination.
Remember, all of these cups that are either obtained from a Deli or in the grocery store are intended to hold things for human consumption. So, it would be pretty hard to have a product meeting the guidelines for holding food for human consumption and have any thing in them that could be useful for a mold release. Good luck Roger Re: Mixing cups

just don't pour PermaGloss or Lumiseal in the deli cups, unless you want the finish all over the bench. As for your question on the nubs I have used them in a mixer and had no concerns. My ball goes over them no problem. Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
