hook keeper question

not sure if its my hippy past catching up to me but i am drawing a blank on this one.
page 13 mudhole 2012 catalog. the hook keeper assortment, i am putting one on like on the bottom row horseshoe with offset. which way should the u turn go toward the butt or guides, i am thinking toward the butt but i swear i ain't sure. your allowed to laugh, just give me your opinion, thanks. I think what you are referring to is a keeper with a simple double loop formed from wire. The double feet will be wrapped and that will leave an offset loop that can be wrapped two ways. The best way to wrap that is to wrap it so that the feet are pointing toward the tip. This allows the keeper to not only take a hook of a lure, but also to restrain a sinker due to its orientation. That allows a drop shot sinker to be restrained by the keeper. Do it the other way and you can't restrain anything exc a hook. If not clear, post again and I'll try harder. Re: hook keeper question

thats exactly what the customer wanted, the drop shot sinker part is what was throwing me off. thank you,

Check the photo of the hook keeper on a rod
next to the pic of the keeper in the Mudhole Catalog. It shows the orientation. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
