Morris Schlesinger called me this morning and I mentioned to him that some guys had asked about a sharpening demo to go along with the wood turning seminar. Morris said that any of you guys that had lathe tools you wanted sharpened, just bring them to the Expo and he'd be happy to guide you, step by step, through sharpening your tools right there. He said he'll bring his sharpening equipment and will have it in his booth all day long for those that want a one-on-one lesson in tool sharpening.

Thank you, Tom.
I had asked if it was possible to see a demonstration of the Tormek Sharpening System. I'm hoping either Morris Schlesinger or Woodcraft will have one at the show. The offer to sharpen tools is very generous of Mr. Schlesinger. Unfortunately I'll be flying in and won't take the chance of having my turning tools seized by the TSA. Good point. Not sure what sharpening system Morris uses, but I'm sure many of his techniques will carry over to any and all.

Just a FYI. Being from Alaska whenever I get down to the Lower 48 I take advantage of my time and visit woodturning/woodworking establishments. I have flown back on 2 occasions with new turning tools in my luggage without any trouble. I have lost a few lighters though FWIW. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
