Metallic Thread Tension

I am wrapping a spinning blank using only metallic thread. It appears that this thread does not have the elongation or elasticity like conventional nylon thread. Are there any special measures that need to be taken when using metallic thread ? Thanks for any help.

It will all depend upon the core of the metallic thread. Take a look at FishHawk metallic thread. They use a nylon core which is covered with rice paper. It should allow you trouble free wrapping.

I had similar problems till the guys on here told me that it is easier to wrap with tension applied to the spool with some metallics. Rather than running the thread through a tensioner.
