Anyone have any experiences with Pacific Bay's quickline fly blanks? Am trying to get a feel whether to try one or mud dogs mhx blank.

Not the fly - but the Mag Bass - REALLY NICE! I would not hesitate, and can't wait to try more of them.

They have great CCS data on them too, so you can get a good idea of what you are getting.

Let us know how you do.

Good Luck,

Marc

I have a Quickline 9' #5 line wt 4pc model. I love it. Very beautiful finish too! It's very crisp. I use a #6 line on it which the company's CCS data indicates would be best for most uses for it.

I can't compare it to any fly blanks in the MHX line as I'm not familiar with those.

Just done building an 8 wt Quickline.

It's light, has a nice glossy black finish and turned out very well. I've cast it at the park but won't get to fish it until July. It casts as an 8 wt should. If I had to make a seat of the pants estimation, I'd say the MHX feels a bit crisper, but then I'm more used to it.

Seems very small butt diameter for the line weight size, so I will be curious how much power reserve it has when fighting a large Coho salmon. Since I also have an 8wt MHX, I'll be able to compare directly.

The price on these is very competitive, and I assume I will build more of them.

Bingham had them in stock a year ago. Probably still does.
