Deliberately fading from one color to another

Is there a way to fade from one color to another when wrapping guides?

Yes, you basically add the next color by inserting it and wrapping a few threads of the first color over it to lock it. Then you can wrap both colors a few turns, cut the first color and lock it under the second. Continue this process for as many colors as you want. Look at the photo pages for examples. There are also tutorials on this in some rod wrapping videos and books, as well as online. It just takes practice to make it look nice. Here is another good example from the photo pages:

I too would like to know how this is done. Wish there is a vid clip on how to do it. I tried having go at it but just could seem to get it right.
