I will be building a float rod soon for centerpin fishing and was wondering on what everyones opinion on which blank I should use? I will be fishing the lake michigan tributaries for steelhead, mostly small rivers and creeks and also during off time fish for possible carp and smallmouth. I have it down to 2 choices. Batson Rainshadow IF1086-4M 10'8" or St. Croix 42F1106.4. What are everyones thoughts on these blanks?
Thanks, Matt Re: Switch Rod Float Conversion?

I just build a spey to float conversion using a Batson RX6 11'6" 6/7wt blank and it makes a very nice steelhead rod for northwestern rivers. The IF1086 has a lot less backbone and will be somewhat faster action but should work well for great lakes fish. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
