I've read here that the St. Croix are a good value...am looking at building a 6wt switch out of one of these and was curious if anyone had any impressions of the differences between these two (color, price and the 4" in length notwithstanding). Have built other Rainshadow switch rods and like them. Thanks in advance for your comments. Re: Rainshadow vs. St. Croix Switch Rod Blanks

While i have not built any Rainshadow switch rods i have built some Rainshadow fly rods and i love them. For the money they are the best value out there.I dont think there is a blank in their price range that even comes close. I built a rainshadow 7wt switch for a customer and myself an 8wt 13' spey. Both were taken on seperate guided trips and both guides asked if they were built on loomis blanks. The guide that cast mine said it cast as well as his loomis dredger, I think that is a pretty good compliment for Batson. Re: Rainshadow vs. St. Croix Switch Rod Blanks

Thanks for the comments guys. Much appreciated. Has anyone out there built both of them? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
