i have been using pro kote as my rod finish and i measured it exactly equal and i have been getting a finish that is a little soft and flexible. is it supposed to do that or am i doing somthing wrong?
and also i have been using the pro bond for my reel seats and my last real seat was a minima and it has slipped of and slides. what should i use?

Educate yourself on proper surface prep before you do anything else. The strongest adhesive in the world does you no good if you don't properly prepare the surfaces you're going to adhere.

Never had a problem with either of those products.

ProKote is a bit soft and flexible. That's mostly an advantage.

There is some interesting discussion on the NERBS website about mixing threadmaster and ProKote that I am going to try at some point.

I have used both Rod Bond (the gold standard) and Pro Bond and I can't tell them apart. In fact, I think they are the same product just packaged differently. If your reel seat is physically loose, then you did something wrong. Both of those are flexible about mixing proportions, so either you didn't mix enough, or didn't spread it enough on what you wanted to bond. Why don't you list your procedure and maybe it will be clear what did not go right.

Sounds frustrating to have something come loose.

I use Rod bond and Threadmaster I have used the new Flexcoat and found it nice a little slower to cure

Like said both the surfaces have to be prepped for a good bond

i create my arbors out of duct tape and then make sure the seat fits.
next i push the reel seat up on the rod and smear the epoxy all over the tape.
then i slowly push the seat down and make sure i wipe of all the access then i let it dry.
