Applying a decorative hook to a wrap?

I've got a small gold size 28 or 30 hook that I would like to place on top of a butt wrap and cover with finish. Is there a good way to adhere the hook before applying my finish? For feather inlays in the past, I always used some color preservative diluted with a few drops of alcohol but my color preservative is probably 10 years old or more and don't want to take any chance that it might cause problems with my Sulky metalic wraps. Any other suggestions? As always, thanks for your input.

Did one a long time ago on a foregrip
I think I used CP to glue it down
Get some new CP [www.rodbuilding.org]
I believe I bent the eye to lay flat It may snap off the hook being tempered careful

You could try a scoff a coat of finish and lay it down Carefully ??

I have used a drop of CP to act as glue.

drop of superglue - or press into partially cured finish & apply a second coat the next day

Thanks Ken, I wasn't sure if the epoxy would harden properly and clear over super glue

Yes, it will harden without any problem. Only "issue" may be color retention of thread below/around the hook
