I can't remember if you need cp on metallic thread or not. If I remember correctly it doesn't absorb any finish. So, I would think it doesn't by its very nature. Not sure.
Thanks, Todd Re: CP Metallic Thread?

No it doesn't, I just cp it to keep the wrap from coming apart, till I am ready to finish the wrap which sometimes it will take up to a week before I get around to it. Tight lines! Re: CP Metallic Thread?

CP will also help to prevent the thread from releasing little air bubbles into the finish. George Forster Fort Collins, CO Re: CP Metallic Thread?

Would it help then (when time to tie off diamond design) to cp up to the point you want to tie off design, wrap your holding wrap back over design and then cut the excess off? Seems the cp would help the design to stay in place after its anchor is cut. Does this make any sense? Re: CP Metallic Thread?

After a wrap is done and I like it I will CP to keep the thread in place before putting on the ends
A few do this Also as CP is applied as it sets up if seeing any threads moving and gapping they can be held in place till set And even a hair dryer can be gone over to help set - depending on CP - Bill - willierods.com Re: CP Metallic Thread?

Not all metallic thread is free of lubricants.
Hopefully, thread sold specifically for wrapping should be OK. Don Don Becker Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
