Apology

I apologize to anyone trying to get in touch with me the last month. I've been without a computer and no access at all to e-mails, I also have not been able to ship anything since I do not drive and can't get USPS to pick anything up since it's an on-line thing.

In addition to no computer I injured myself playing basketball which put me on my couch for a week, had an infection which gave me a 3 day fever, and put a 1/2" brad point bit into the palm of my hand.

If anyone needs to contact me call me 718 980-5626. Merry XXmas to everyone and hopefully I get my computer back soon because I'm going crazy, lol

Billy, no apology needed. Just glad you are ok( sort of ok ) . Rough stretch but pull yourself up by your boot straps and hold your head up. Been quiet around here without you. It was a Christmas gift hearing from you.

Happy to hear that you are not breathing dirt.
We all heard about the basketball injury.
Heal up, and get back to your obnoxious self.
Merry Christmas, Billy

I need to apologize, I've had Phil's rod waiting to ship for over a month, and I spoke to him and told him I'd get it out ASAP. I had 6 hours worth of computer time before the virus shut it back down afte rI had no power supply cord for a couple of weeks. I just went through 74 e-mails from the past few weeks too, frustrating and a wake up call how much of my business/life is on teh computer. I also need to start teh gathering schedule and invites, I haev a lot of new things planned, but can't get the word out right now.

Thanks hope you all have a great Xmas as well, thanks

There is a lot to be said for redundant backups in this case. Personally I use a linux OS, which is inherently harder to infect so long as you are not using the root user and it has a good password.

The other option is when setting up a windows machine, use a non-administrator user for the majority of stuff and only access the admin account when truly necessary.

Billy, I'm glad to see that you are OK. I thought you might have had computer problems as you weren't on Facebook, or any other forums. Glad to hear you are OK, hope you get back up and running soon.

Billy I hope things improve for you - Bummer with the computer virus and Trojan attacks - been there done that!

You could cheer all of us southern boys up if you have time.

I read the no car - no truck - things from you city guys!

I have an idea where you live across the bridge - it would really be interesting for us Bubbas who latch on to boats with our trucks and head to a boat launch to have some idea of what big city anglers go through managing rods, tackle and iceboxes. How do you get the rods and stuff to the boat and how in the devil to you brng fish home? Please do not let us find out by seeing the Clown and Pink Shoes on Confessions of a Taxi Driver on HBO!

Billy,
I appreciate your pain and discomfort. Never fun when something strikes the body to put one down.

Prices on computers have fallen a great deal these last few years. It is not a bad idea to keep a back up computer around.

Depending on your operating system, you can often do a system restore - to an earlier data point that does not have the problem.

Another consideration that some folks have been going to is to go the "Apple" route in computing. Generally speaking, the "Apple" computers have only a fraction of the virus and malware attacks of the conventional PC.

Heal fast and get well soon.

Be safe
Roger
