EVA indent

Hi Guys,

I just got back from a fishing trip, and my rods really took a beating..........the primary "damage" was to the eva grips, especially were things had been pressed against the eva and it has been pressed in......

Does any body have any ideas how I can get the eva to its original state.....ie making the pressed in parts "pop out" again

Thanks....

Farid

If they are going to be getting ripped up every time you go out Take the eva of - butt handle - and replace it with a smooth butt [www.mudhole.com]

You can put it on from the butt of the rod ---- And shape the eva down to be the arbor for the new butt

Or try heat or steam to get it back

here is more info on dents [rodbuilding.org]

Steam it and with gloves on manipulate that area by hand. It should spring back up.

Farid,
Put it in a vertical rod holder, leave it alone for a week or two and the handle will likely be just fine.

Good luck

Farid,
The good news with dents in an EVA handle is that it neans that the rod is being used. That is what is important with a fishing rod. Use.

The handle and other things will take care of themselves.

Catch a bunch and move on.

Roger
