CA on carbon skin grips?

Wondering how CA would do as a finish on a carbon skin grip. I know that epoxy would be needed to wet the stuff out, but for a top coat would CA work? Brand? Thickness?

It may work, but the fumes will be noxious, you won't have a lot of time to apply it, and you may end up stuck to your rod grip.

Permagloss likely also has better abrasion resistance/ durability than CA.

I see no reason why you cannot do it. Granted its thinner than epoxy so if the carbon weave is very open or deep it would take a ton of coats to seal and level the surface, but assuming you can sand the carbon down a little or use a smaller tighter weave material you should be able to do it.

There is also LumiSeal which is thicker then Permagloss

You cannot sand the carbon fiber weave "down:! It is made up of thread like filaments and will only very badly abraid if sanded! The epoxies that are recommended work very well and as Tom Kirkman has pointed out a number of times, Helmsman Spar Urethane gives a very nice high gloss finish. Don't know what benefit one would get from CA?

Stick with a ureathane either single part or two part. The one part is the easiest and You won't get a better material for coating the grips. Very scratch resistant, very clear much more the spar varnish and not hard to repair if needed. Your thinking out side the box but I wouldn't sweat it and stick with what others already know work!
