Noodle blank for walleye

Just had a request from a friend for a 10'6 - 11'6, 2 - 6# line, "noodle" rod for cold-weather (icy guides) walleye fishing. Unfamiliar with this type of fishing, would greatly appreciate any blank and component recommendations.

Many Thanks!!!
Mike

Thanks Bill, appreciated!

Curious about the guide setup, would snakes be beneficial d/t icing?

Look at the Batson Rainshadow IST1201F.
Very nice, some backbone to help control a bigger fish.

Mike,
I've used Recoil guides on cold weather or ice rods since you can "flick" them with your finger and the ice pops off.

Mike,
Also, the Pac Bay guides work very well for ice rods for the same reason. No insert, so easy to flick off the ice.
Also, for a cold weather rod as you are building, I would use no guide or tip size smaller than a size 8.

Take care
REW
