I have been printing my own waterslide decals with good results as far as adhesion and coverage with finish. The problem I am having is the text.It is pixelated.I use Paint.net to print my text.Is there something I am missing or is this just the nature of printing text from a computer program. Thanks Re: Waterslide decal text?

You need to increase your resolution, either within your software or your printer itself. Most printers offer various options insofar as to the quality of the print. Choosing a higher quality will stop the pixelation but use more ink. Thus, most printers standard or default setting is for lower quality at some savings in the amount of ink used.

Choose "photo quality" if it shows up in any printer menus. But Tom is right. If the resolution (dots per inch, DPI) is not 200 or above you are likely to see at least a fuzzy edge on type. The whole web world works on 72 DPI screen resolution and everybody thinks that's all that's ever needed...it's an invitation to jaggies. If the file size of a 3-inch X .5 inch decal is not AT LEAST 500K, you are probably going to be disappointed. a 3 X 1 should be 1 meg (1000K). Re: Waterslide decal text?

What kind of printing program are you using to make the waterslide decals? I bought something at my local hobby store but either i missed something or it is junk. I'm frustrated but i never give up. Re: Waterslide decal text?

I use Gimp. It's powerful and free. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
