I'm rebuilding 2 ulua surf rods here in Hawaii and I need to find a vendor that sells the long metal butt caps. I believe the ones on these poles are stainless, possibly aluminum, but does anyone know where I can get a few of these.
The ones on these two 13' rods measure 10". They don't need to be exact. Thanks for the help! Scott B... Re: where do i get 10" stainless butt caps?

Thanks Barry. I appreeciate your referral.
I am a distributor and do not sell directly to people in Hawaii. Here's a link to most of the shops that I support. [www.donstacklehawaii.com] If you are on Oahu, Brian's and Roy's purchase a lot of stainless steel butt caps. These are measured in mm taken on the inside of the butt cap. They are a standard 12 inches long. The length properly fits sand and rock spikes. The sizes in stock are 20mm, 22mm, 24mm, 26mm, 28mm. If required, I could probably find a 30mm or 32mm butt cap. Please do not get confused about sizes. Some shops still sell butt caps in pipe sizes. For instance, a 1 1/4" butt cap is a pipe size and is measured by the outside diameter. Since the wall thickness is not known, you will have no idea as to whether or not it will fit your rod. Should you need additional information, do not hesitate to call. My number is on my website. Charley's Fishing Supply in Kakaako has really well made stainless butt caps. Take the rod there and fit to size. Re: where do i get 10" stainless butt caps?

Well, I got the old buts off. One was made of chromed brass and the other was aluminum.
After a little cleaning, I noticed a label on one that says the blank is a saber 540. Just wanted to mention that. Anyways, thanks for the tips on the butt caps. These blanks measure about 32-33 mm diameter. Gonna be tough finding reel seats for these unless anyones familiar with where I could start looking for those at that size. I have Fuji plate reel seats, but am not too sure I want to go that route. I guess I need to la all my options out before I commit. Thanks, Scott Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
