Good morning Owen,
I hear and feel your pain. It is called competition. We just have to be better at what we design and build than they are. We can give a customer exactly what they want and can't get off the rack. This is David against Goliath. They own the ball field and we play with their ball. Here is a bit of consolation. Many of the anglers who purchase factory rods will not be our customers anyway. As rod designer/builders we constantly have to find reasons for customers to come to us. Here is a plus for you being is Austraila. You can get CTS blanks pretty quick I would think. I have to wait months for my CTS blanks to arrive here on Long Island, NY, USA. Capt Neil Faulkner Re: PacBay ...not happy...

Owen,
This is the Pac Bay catalog: [www.fishpacbay.com] You will not find a single finished rod in their product offering. Roger Re: PacBay ...not happy...

To all concerned,
PacBay does not sell finished rods. I did a search and found what I think are the rods in question. They are on @#$%& for a low price and use the PacBay name in their title. The rods do appear to feature our components except for the blank. The location of the items is listed as Melbourne, Australia but I could not tell who the seller was. PacBay takes trademark infringement seriously and this issue will be investigated further. I will request that the originator of this post revise the subject heading if possible as it fosters unwarranted negativity towards our brand. -The Batson TEAM BatsonEnterprises.com Re: PacBay ...not happy...

Actually, at this point, Pacific Bay has gotten some great advertising and set the record straight on finished rod sales at the same time.
While I don't like these type posts and wish folks would do their homework prior to going on a rant, sometimes these things come out in favor of the subject company. I think that happened here. ........... Re: PacBay ...not happy...

G'Day Owen I've just had a look at the rods in question & they state the rods have a "PacBay" bent handle with "Big Foot Guides" on a "HYPERTEX" blank. I agree at first glance they give the impression that the rod was made by Pac Bay but on further reading it is clear this is not so.

I contacted Pac Bay last night about these rods and received an e-amail back from them this morning... PacBay have reviewed these rods and they are definatley NOT manufactured by Pac Bay and wish to advise the seller of these items to cease & desist using their name.....(in other words they are doing this illegally.)... Glad i bought this up afterall....The seller is here in Melbourne and i will be passing any information i get back to PacBay...
Thanks guys.... Re: PacBay ...not happy...
