Thomas;
your question: "I attended Steves seminar last year and have been so busy building 7 footers this year I have misplaced the general spacing that he gave us for a 6'6" caster.. am hoping that you guys might be able to help out." I apologize for not getting this to you before now, have been a little disconnected lately. Here is the general spacing that I gave for 6'6" rods (spiral rapped) from tip 1- 8cm 2- 9cm 3- 10cm 4- 11cm 5- 12cm 6 -13cm 7- 15cm 8- 17cm 9- 23 to 23.5cm ( point .5 doesn't seem like much), but sometimes makes enough difference in distance to make it worth tweaking back and forth and casting to check, some times doesn't make much difference at all. After setting spacing, I suggest checking the line path in case you need to make a few adjustments, but most of the time this is pretty close to where they end up when done Re: Thomas Kaufmann 6' 6" spacing answer

I'm sorry for butting in uninvited, but I'm dying to know what sort of rod you guys are building. When I convert these to inches, it's more than 20" from the tip to the first guide, then only 2.5" between guides 1 & 2, 2 & 3, 3 & 4, etc up to guide #6, then 5" between 6 & 7, and 7 & 8, and a 15" - 16.5" jump from there to the butt guide.
1– 8cm = 20.32" 2– 9cm = 22.86" 3– 10cm = 25.40" 4– 11cm = 27.94" 5– 12cm = 30.48" 6 –13cm = 33.02" 7– 15cm = 38.10" 8– 17cm = 43.18" 9– 23 to 23.5cm = 58.42" to 59.69" That is beyond any shadow of a doubt the oddest looking rod configuration I have ever come across. smc Re: Thomas Kaufmann 6' 6" spacing answer

I may be utilizing another converstion table but 8cm converts out to 3.1 inches.

Steve,
1" = 2.54cm. The conversion is #cm/2.54. You used #cm*2.54. This should straighten out your configuration. Joe Re: Thomas Kaufmann 6' 6" spacing answer
