What is the proper name for this type guide and how do you measure their size?

It's a heavy duty version/copy of the original light wire Aetna Foulproof design. You measure the ID of the ring for sizing.
Not sure what company made this particular one, it was not Aetna, however. ................ Re: Guide Question

I think American Tackle has a similar type guide listed under stainless NFG (non fouling guide) Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/07/2011 01:07PM by Ken Preston. Re: Guide Question

Thanks for the response. A link I was given indicates that they are not used much any more. What would be used to repalce them? BTW: I mainly fish saltwater and still see a lot of them around, even on some new rods. Re: Guide Question
