Oct 29th & Nov 5th - fun day for builders

There is going to be a lot of fun for about 50 builders in Chicago, Ohio, and New England - there are 3 gatherings being held. I am really psyched about having the opportunity to meet some new builders, reunite with old friends, and to help make them a better builder. I will be up in Leominster Mass covering the following topics:
- Epoxy tips and tricks
- Hercules rods for Cape Cod Tuna – will have the new GTS 70XH blank which is a powerhouse
- Decorative Wraps
- Decorative Grips Q & A
- Guide layout for surf spin rods

We'll also be having a hot sauce tasting contest, some quahog chowder & quahog pies, and lots of Octoberfest.

And the Ghicago gathering (hosted by Dan Makauskas) topics include:
- crosswraps,
- weaves,
- aluminum tubing for handles

On November 5th The Ohio Rod Builders (The ORBs, hosted by Bill Eshelman) will be covering the following topics:
- making a weaving jig for just a few dollars,
- Doing a simple weave,
- CCS system,
- Static testing,
- decals and labels

Ohio is Saturday November 5th, and we still have room for two, three or more.

We also will be discussing decorative wraps and how to lay them out.

We are not having a HOT sauce contest. However we have some HOT demonstrations you will not want to miss.

Lunch will be from Old Carolina BBQ.

Billy, Thanks for mentioning us. With all of the Cleveland sports doing how they do, we just are not used to people talking good about us. GO BROWNS!!!! and go NERBS lol.

Jim, Mark said the same thing. My recommendation....come out here in the summer when we do the NERBs BBQ, hang out, laugh, and go fishing/touristing.

Now Mike, That`s the sort of relationships formed with these gatherings. Priceless... Not a day goes by I don't get a text or and email from people I know through a gathering(Whether it is rod building related or not).

Fred,

I love the way these gatherings are growing and spreading! Not only do I learn a lot, but I get to see old friends and meet new ones. Wish I could make it up to your area for one of the NERB's gatherings..I would STRONGLY suggest that everyone attend one in their area and if they don't have any, start one!!!!

P.S. Jim will definitely be up here for some great walleye fishing on the Detroit River and Lake Erie next year!!
