New Inovations are limited by the mind

Sitting around, you always ask yourself... What can I do to step it up a notch with my rods? What can I create that will take rod building by storm? I challenge everyone to do something out of the ordinary, something different to their next project rod and post pictures. Wheather it be a new style grip, a new way to decorate a rod, a new technique in building itself. Share Ideas and failures. Most of all have fun!

You NERBS do nice work. I wish I could attend one of your Saturdays. 3000 miles is just a bit far!

The October issue of RodMaker magazine has one of my latest "different" rods.

Nice work Alex! Did I read that right, an MB843 blank coming in at 1.8oz.? Now that is a piece of innovation.

Sometimes even the Micro Mindless (M&M II) Can Use the Minds of Others To Build Innovative Fishing Rods

Swamp Boyz Shaky Head Rod used by touring anglers featuring:

ONE of Richard Forhan's Elite Secrets (Alex you had it first. Richard GAVE it to you to spread around at the ICRBE Seminar - the first time I saw it I did not know what it was. When he told me what it was and why I freaked!)

This one even includes a "HOOK" to catch the NERBS!

It is preloaded with an All In Bet for the one who uses soap in his mouth! (Could not resist Michael!)

Richard's secret is quite shocking!

Also:

Castaway Microwave Guide With 4.0 Tangle Free Running Micros

Total Rod Weight 2.55 ounces.

Add in Doug Hannons' Wave Spin Reel for full effect.

Big Boy Advantage - More Lure Time In Water!

As they say down the bayou - COME SEE SHA!

Alex,

I'll wager a guess that that blank is between 1.6 and 1.75oz., but I won't go all in if Mr. Stevens has a hand of cards.

I envied the flyrodbuilders for the use of beatiful wood in the reelseatrs. Here is an UL for the light troutfishing.
Built on a 2-9 grams Dragon High Modular 80 blank to lightest possible specs.
Wanted to pick up the gold colour in the Amb. 2500 reel and yellow cedar burl, vacuum varnished, does the job.
Comfortable to handle without the trigger that I never have missed.
