I heard about it from Ken also. I sometimes use it as a finish on wood grips. I like it Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Max Seal from Polymer Products

I know first hand it doesn';t like solvent!! I coated an old Conolon surf rod with it and some alcohol on a paper towel touched the blank and wrinkled the stuff right off! I Did a freshwater blank for my father and coated it with Max Seal he spilled two stroke gas wiped it with a towel and the towel layed against the rod taking the finish right off.
Now I got good results looks wise with it but as I mentioned many times short of going the factory route which is mostly a oven cure epoxy ! I would do the dip or funnel methoed with the Max Seal. You can spray it but I found it can dry to fast if the weather is dry. 2K auto ureathane can't be beat!! The Spray Max stuff is very very nice but it's not cheap !! But the fact that it's in a spray can makes it worth it for the one or two blanks you might paint. I paint nearly.... so far in 1 years time 42 blanks. I had to go to a spray gun besides the color pallete is unreal. I realize this isn't practical for most.. so The Spray Max so far is the best method on the easy chart that lasts just as good as the factory coating!! I have been using some of my painted blanks on jettys for a few years and have not had a problem!! I have painted large wooden lures as well and holds up fine.. just like on a car!!
