got a challenge...... determining the rod specs

So I purchased some of mudholes blow out blanks, and well as anyone knows who has ordered them before, they come with no info on the blanks. My question to everyone is,, Is there a way to get a general idea on how to figure out line rating on these blanks?

The last ones I ordered had the line weight listed on the website when you specify the length etc.

my question is whats the difference? if they are that heavy or light it doesnt matter really. you can determine it by flexing it, then just see what a blank with that power/ action would be good for. did you get them yet?

all you get when you order their BLOWOUT blanks is a guess. and the ones i purchaced was anywhere between 20lb-80lb. but its non specific. and on their blowout blanks you dont really get to pick, but that still doesn't answer my question.

Andrew,
Run a deflection test on the blanks to establish a spring rate.
You can use the instructions from the common cents info on the left.
Compare the results with known blanks.

You might also measure butt, tip, length and weight to see how closley it matches with other blanks on the Mud Hole website.

It's not hard to do, but it takes experiance to figure out the specs. If oyu have other rods wiht spcs on them you can compare them to these blanks.

Why in the world will you buy blanks with no info?!! A bargain is not a bargain if you have no need for it.
