Building my first rod which will be a present for the wife. I have chosen A Forecast 804-4. I want to use a blue that will match the blank well then she has mentioned she would like a few pink trim wraps. Any brand and color you recommend to match the blue forecast blank and then a "standard" looking pink for the trim. I might even add silver in a well. I have been lurking for a while and learning but I am now really looking forward to my first build.

Chris,
For trim on thiis blank, I prefer the metallic royal blue.
For the pink, go to the hottest brightest pink that you can find. When you just add a touch of a hot pink, it makes the rod pop.
By the way, I almost always use silver for trim when I use blue guide wraps on a blue blank. Nothing better looking that metallic silver against a blue background.

If you do go with a silver trim, it is nice to go with chrome or silver guides as well as a silver trimmed reel seat. It all works very well together.

Take care
Roger

Chris, I just finished up one with a pink theme and ended up using the ProWrap Colorfast 361 Neon Pink. Gave a good pink tone after the epoxy:

Be careful to pack the pink VERY well, otherwise the dark background will show through.

Do you intend to use CP on the blue warps? If not I have found the following blue threads work extremely well on the Forecast blue blank: Gudebrod #245 Royal Blue, Fish Hawk #246 Dark Blue & Pro Wrap #449 Wild Blue Berry. Of course without CP they become quite translucent and blend in with the blank. I'm not sure what a blue thread with CP on the blue blank will look like as I never use CP. If you want to go that way, I'd suggest you do a test wrap on the area were the grip or reel seat go so you can see the results.

Thank you for the replies.

I was thinking of REC guides and the rosewood UL3 in Tich color seat from one of our sponsors. IN reagrds to CP I was not going to use it on the Blue to allow some blend but will use the Pro wrap color fast in pink becuase its a NCP and I do not need preserver...correct?
