You are correct it is NOT right but if it is what he is asking for then it is right in his mind. Initially when I read "s" I thought you were asking about the s on Corps not on Marine.

I believe that there is only a single US Marine Corps and the 'S' should not be on Marine(s). Marines make up the US Marine Corps. My 2 cents worth and I have been out of the USMC for 49 years.

Hey guys,
I am an active duty Marine. U.S. Marines and United States Marine Corps are both correct. NOT Marines Corps

Below is offical website for the Marines. Look at the bottom left corner and you will find your answer. NO "s".

Hey guys, I'm ex Australian Army and have worked with the Marines here's my $0.02c

US Marine Corps is correct

U.S. Marine Corps is also correct, and possibly the most correct of all... the period (full stop to non-US folks) indicates that the letters stand for full words.

U.S Marine Corps is incorrect as you've got the period for the U but not for the S.

Marines serve within the Marine Corps, not the Marines Corps.. It could never be Marines Corps as technically it would be writen as the Marine's Corps meaning that the Marines actually have possession of the Corps, which they do not, they serve the Marine Corps..

Clear as mud folks? ;)
