FPS seats are one of the most robust and will take 30lb no problem. I haven't had a FPS-22 fail in decades of using them, and have designed many production rods with H22, D22 and SD22 seats for #30 and heavier that have never had a strength issue in the Australian market which is tough on tackle! USe with confidence Paul.

I have a confession to make. I stayed with graphite seats for a long time now due to problems with metal seats back in the day.

Yesterday a parts shipment arrived with an aluminum reel seat (black). I have to admit it looks so much nicer that I'm asking the client to stop by and take a look before I put a graphite seat on his rod. I like the aluminum ball gimbal too:) Always went with the graphite fuji gimbal too. I'm going to have to invest in a scale.

Absolutely, graphite seats are much tougher than they look. We use DPSD20's on our tarpon spinners and put the heat on them with 50lb braid.

If you still have any doubts, keep in mind that there are heavy duty nylon/graphite boat rod seats available as well.
