Hello Friends,
I'm looking for instructions or tutorials for shaping a handle with cutouts to accept an IPS reel seat, similar to those once found on the CCW website by Ray Jorgensen (http://classiccustomwood.com/?page_id=667), or instructions from Rich Gassman (http://www.rodbuilding.org/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/5987/title/different-size-split-grips/cat/507) - the only 2 folks who I can find detailed "working" info from on "custom" handles for this seat design. I'm NOT interested in buying pre-formed handles. I once had several printouts and notes from articles and/or emails from both of these folks, but alas they were destroyed in flood-waters along with prototypes of same; and I've been unable to re-establish contact :( I've made a few of these handles, but it was a while ago, and I seem to have lost the "formula". Anyway, I've got some of the basics (cast the form using bondo, from a commercially available grip, create a jig, etc.) but lost the details. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Anything in an existing or future RM mag article would be even better? Steve Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/08/2011 03:52PM by Steven Libby. Re: IPS handle

Ray had a great tutorial on his site at one time but I could not find it now. The site has changed a bunch since I last
look in on it. Contact Ray again and maybe he will send it to you. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: IPS handle

Classic Custom Wood used to have a tutorial. Try the contact us tab.
