Ok I am thinking of tinkering with a new build and starting to figure out what all i will need. I am considering a Micro guide 7' casting rod except wanting to build it spiral wrapped. Anyone ever do this. Any ideas best way to accomplish this. I suspect the best wat would be use standard size guide on the spiral and micro the rest the way under. Any ideas how many guides i would need.. Re: Micro Guide setup with a twist

Check out the thread below - "Micro Spiral Wrap." It's a good start. I haven't built a spiral yet, but will be on my next build also, it looks like most start with a couple double foot guides, ranging from 10 - 6. I'm planning on using 3-4 transition guides then 4s to the tip. Probably will be 8df, 6df and then finish out with 4s Re: Micro Guide setup with a twist

My last build was a hm mhx mb844 (7' heavy) with spiraled micros. Butt guide was a 4 then 3's on out. It's currently my favorite rod. It's fantastic for pitching and skipping baits in the 3/8oz territory. Re: Micro Guide setup with a twist
