Fuji single foot k-guides on fly rod

Has anyone tried using the Fuji single foot k-series guides on a fly rod? I understand that the concept behind the K-series is to shed knots on thin line (braid) at high speed, and that in flyfishing we are dealing with thick line, no knots, and low speed. However, I was wondering if the angle of the k-guides would be beneficial in any way to flycasting. My guess is that the angle of the guide opening would allow the flyline to "shoot" more efficiently because the line is not hitting the entire ring all at once -- similar to a snake guide though with only one foot.

Your thoughts?

Scott,
The only way to know would be to try it.

I just built a 3/4 wt, 10 foot rod on an Angler's Roost blank, and used forecast "f" guides on the whole thing. It cast line like it is shot from a cannon. Used Guides from Utmost Enterprises. # 6 #7 #8, #10 single foot guides and #12 stripper with #6 tip.

Scott I think you may have a great idea. I really love those K guides and have had great success with them. I built a rod for the tv host Charlie Moore to present when i was on his show. Now he is sponsored by carrotstyx and has an obligation to fish with there rods. He had there top of the line modles. They were not there cheaper rods. But the rod I built for him and presented to him on the show had K guides. Off camera he told me he would fish with K guides all he could and commisioned me to transform two carrot styx to K guides. I made good money on that on two. Anyway i got off on a tangent. I like when guys throw up an idea on here to bat around. You have a great idea. Those low frame k guides are tilted and the titanium is super light weight. I think we need to try it. I will mock up and let you know my opinion. Do the same.

I have incorporated single foot K's as stripper guides on several fly builds. Mostly asthetic as i can't really see much need to shed fly line tangles. Have not used them as running guides but love to use ceramics for running guides on hevier rods say 8-10.
