What color thread for anodized blue?

I know that garnet Gudebrod w/color preserver looks like anodized red aluminum when finished, but what color thread do I want to match an anodized blue reel? No underwraps or metallics please.

I can’t help with a non metallic selection, but Sulky Metallic Peacock Blue is the most beautiful blue I have ever worked with, I use more than any other color. Another thing to keep in mind is that all blue anodizing is not the same, the company I used to work for sold a lot of anodized aluminum parts and the batch to batch consistency was always a problem, you may need a completely different color blue to match the reel you have compared to someone else’s blue reel.

The only thing in that case is to buy all the blues and this way you have them on hand if needed

Mike, what would you say is the closest to the peacock blue in a non-metallic?

If I remember right peacock blue is available in the rayon, sliver and metallic.

Pick up a half dozen blue thread colors.

Do some test wraps on blanks and then wet the finish with DNA to get a feel for what the thread will look like when the finish is applied and dry.

Use the samples to get the match that you need.

Good luck
Roger

Yes, peacock is available in non-metallic, I see that now. Azul also seems to be a similar color.

All your posts were helpful, thanks guys.
