My interest is piqued. What is an epoxy ramp, why do you use it, where on the rod do you use it??

I don't use epoxy for the ramps any more, much easier and a little lighter to turn them from foam reel seat shims. I paint them ivory to make sure all are the same color (they vary some in color), and feathers look great on them. Photo shows ramps at both ends of the grip. On this rod the ramps are actually the seat shims, too. They were turned to meet in the middle of the reel seat (front coming in from front, rear from the rear).
