Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a thread that would give a true holographic effect? I know there isn't anything made special for rod building along those lines but I wonder if any of you have seen anything in the craft or sewing shops that might work. Thanks in advance. James, please take a look at FishHawk Threads and you will find Kaleidoscope. It does not have much structural integrity but will give you a true holographic look. Re: True Holographic Thread

Hi James,
Hard to get a true holographic effect on a round surface, that's why the Glissen Gloss thread is flat. It gives a good effect but can be a pain to use. it's about 4 times wider than "a" thread and about half the thickness. Good for trim and highlights but not good enough for guide binding. I use Sulky Holoshimmer once in a while. It's a flat mylar strand, and best for use as a trim or decorative material.

Could holoshimmer be used as an underwrap ???? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
