Every closed wrap I've seen has been done with the axis' being poker straight. I wanted to try a closed wrap where the 0 axis spiraled and ended on the 180 axis and the 180 axis ended on the 0 axis. This is what I came up with. Final packing was a bit of a challenge and it may have looked more dramatic if I would have also wrapped on the 90 and 270 axis'. Any one else ever tried this?

Hi Chad,
Mate it's good to see you trying something a little bit out there. Hate to rain on your parade though but it has been done numerous times before and was featured in the book Custom Rod Thread Art. I've also done a few of these which you can see in my gallery if you wish. The spiral doesn't just apply to fish patterns. You could also do it with many of the others but just don't make the wrap to busy or you'll lose the effect. Regards Mark Fisher Outback Rods Re: Spiral Axis Closed Wrap

Chad, great job on this wrap, it looks great. I did it once with an Arrow wrap, pointed and spiraled the wrap in the sme direction as the transition from top to bottom wiht the guides. Well done!! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
