Aftco makes a swivel tip - I use them for my Planer rod and for my Dredge Teaser rod.

Torpedo makes a better swivel tip for half the cost. It has a #6 SIC guide on the incoming side of the roller as well as the exit guide. Do a search for "Torpedo Tip" or "Torpedo Wire". The company that makes Torpedo Trolling Wire makes the tip.

Tristan,
Be careful of what you use for a downrigger rod.
Depending on your applicaiton, you generally want a down rigger rod to be of glass and to be able to take about a 90 degree bend to be able to be well loaded all of the time on the rigger and to be able to snap up to set the hook and take out slack line when a fish hits.

Good fishing.
Roger

No problem, I use them for wireline applications. They are great to work with, and will even do "custom" ring inserts for nominal fees. The only problem is that they are in Ontario and shipping is high for a single tip, so like you I tend to order them in numbers. They are very nice looking, almost impossible at a glance to tell that they aren't an Aftco, maybe slightly bulkier, maybe. The other bummer is that you can't use one with a spiral wrap. I have bugged them a few times, but they don't seem to be interested in coming up with anything like that. Something about not being enough demand for it????LOL
