A couple questions:
Does anybody know the section length on these 4 piece blanks? Trying to figure out the exact finished pack length. Does anybody have any CCS data on the rods in the 6wt-8wt range for either the RX7 or RX8 series? Thanks! Re: 4 piece RX7/RX8 Fly Blank Questions

Tony,
I have an RX7 9 ft. 8 wt. blank and the sections are 28 1/4 inches. I always consider the slightly additional length from tip tops and reel seat ends or fighting butts. There is Rainshadow rod CCS data available at the CC Info link in the Sponsors list right here on Rodbuilding.org. Re: 4 piece RX7/RX8 Fly Blank Questions

Generally, most 4-piece rods require a tube with a minimum of 29 inches inside length.

I recently built on the XF904-4 and XF906-4 blanks. The butt section was the longest section for both of these rods and was 29".
The XF904-4 had an action angle of 68 and a ERN of 6. The XF906-4 had an action angle of 70 and a ERN of 8. Thanks, Chad Huderle Huderle Custom Rods Prior Lake, MN Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/12/2011 02:44PM by Chad Huderle. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
