Anybody have any advice on how to get the St. Croix label transferred to the blank without fingerprints? Thanks.

What I do when I don't have the proper tape to cover it with for handling purposes , is get under one corner with a single edge razor blade and lift it off carefully and transfer it to the blank without touching the glue side with my finger. Works every time assuming you get it on the blank straight.

Cover the face of sticker with low tack masking tape extending approx 1" each end. Make sure you put it on level with edge of sticker. Flip sticker over and with needle or blade lift backing off sticker. Then you can grab each end of mask tape and apply to rod without getting fingerprints on adhesive. Once sticker is burnished down remove mask tape at a sharp angle. You can give adhesive a light spray with a light solution of soapy water( window cleaner works also) to get it on straight. But wait a while before removing masking tape. I used to use this technique in the signwriting industry to apply vinyl lettering.

Check out MudHoles How to's They have a video that they put a piece of transparent tape over it Pull it off the backing then onto the blank It lets you see how it is lined up as you place it on

Call Decal Connection and ask about buying a roll of "transfer tape". It will last you a lifetime and you will NEVER want to do it any other way.

I use two pair of needle nose tweezers to lift the edges, peel away the top film and place the decal on the rod, fingers never touch the decal.
