The bottom half of a 2 piece rod broke about an 1/8 of an inch below where the ferrule ends when the rod is assembled. If I put an over sleeve on it, it doesn't extend far enough to add any support or I make it too long that the rod won't hold together in the ferrule.
any ideas? Thanks Jay Re: how do you repair this?

You'll have to do an internal repair in that case. And for that reason, being smaller in diameter, you'll want to use a graphite repair piece. Look for something with about the same wall thickness or slightly greater than the actual blank in that area.

Jay,
Another possibility that I have done with such a situation is to find a different blank that will match the tip section. Then, cut the blank to near the handle and make the repair so that the new blank comes down tight to the handle. Then, there will be no sign of repair. Good fixing.
