There is a product called Klass-Kote that is an epoxy paint. It has been sold for years as a thread coating. It's nearly thin as varnish.

If you want a two part epoxy finish, you can take Aftcote and apply it very thinly (it is very thin to begin with), brush/pull away excess and get a darn nice very thin look. It's downfall is the cure time is extremely slow, especially in cooler temps.

Tom,
Is Klass Kote thinner than Permagloss? I am not familiar with that product. Thanks, Tom Kaufmann Re: Thinnest Viscosity

It is just as thin, or very close.

interesting. i have been experimenting heavily with the viscosity of epoxy for the last three-four weeks. having wrapped up all standing orders, i placed a 1 month waiting period on incoming orders to work on my home, spend time with my daughter and experiment with theoretical finish ideas. i have been utilizing the thread-master high build epoxy, and diluting it to varying degrees with a number of solvents. and applying it in several different ways.
i have some very interesting info concerning my experiences with this as of late, but im not ready to post about specifics, until i have the time to detail everything in a standalone thread. keep your eyes peeled for a thread labeled "Dynamic Viscosity". Re: Thinnest Viscosity
