Hey fellas.
Could one explain to me the process of making those really neat clear guide wraps. i know you use silk thread. Im looking to do one on a MHX graphite blank (p904-2) that i got. its going to go well with the carbon fiber and cork grips i have. i want to know what thread, and how to finish it. by means of perma gloss or epoxy. i really dont want to use permagloss but if i have no choice. tell me, any pics are appreciated too. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Gabe

I have done a number of rods with transparent wraps, both bamboo and graphite. The process I use is: Pearsalls Gossemer silk thread, then first coat of epoxy (I use Threadmaster) cut to water like consistency with DNA, allowed to set for 48 hours the second coat of epoxy uncut. They are so clear some customers say that I didn't use any thread!

Anyone ever tried Stitch-Thru Invisible thread? It's .004 Nylon. Maker is EZ Quilting.

David,
I've tried some version of invisible quiting thread. It didn't have the desired effect.

White silk ... just as mentioned. Mud Hole doesn't carry it. J Stockard is where I purchase it.
