I haven't seen anything that compares to the old Gudebrod two color. I have some in a few different combinations that I inherited from my dad. Some that I picked up on @#$%&. I like building old school rods on vintage blanks, with vintage components. The old thread really gives an authentic vintage look. At least in my mind.
The new stuff isn't bad, but I have only tried trimar. The guys on the left will be able to tell you what's good also. Always learning with Ohio Rod Builders Joe Azar Re: 2 color twist thread

Jim I have some two tone Holland. What are you looking for? If you have some special rod going or something you need special thread for just give me a growl. Re: 2 color twist thread

However, I am surprised that none of the website that I normally frequent do not carry anything close. Re: 2 color twist thread

Jim -
Merrick Tackle had a some spools left when I spoke to them two weeks ago (Gudebrod classic twist). I have 2 small spools of black/white twist that you're welcome to if you want them. Re: 2 color twist thread

Jim,
If all else fails, you can find similar "twist" threads at some of the sewing stores (such as Jo Ann). These may or may not have a silicone lubricant; so, you would have to test to see if CP is needed. Stay away from rayon and cotton. Coats and Clark Trilobal (polyester) is one that I've used with good results. George Forster Fort Collins, CO Re: 2 color twist thread

You might also try ThreadArt polyester embroidery thread which you must also test with CP due to the presence of silicones. Good luck.
