Billy
How long do you let the glue dry before cutting blocks in the other direction and how long before turning. Thanks Mike Re: EVA dry time

I do not wait at all. Once the contact cement is dry I press the 2 pieces together using as close to a ton of force as possible. I'm going to stress 2 words here...DRY & TON OF FORCE. If the CC is wet it will not bond and it WILL come apart. If there is a tiny drop of CC thta is wet, it's not going to bond. Make sur eit is dry before pressing pieces together, depending on teh temperature, humidty, freshness of CC, and amount of CC applied - it will take between a few minutes and 10 minutes for it to dry once applied. TWO COATS.
Once it's togethre I'll make cuts, or i'll bore it and shape it. I do it all the time at NERBs gatherings. If that does not make you comfortable, feel free to wait overnight or whatever. I used to do this until I started making TONS of trim pieces and grips, and had nothing to lose by shaping right away, and lo and behold it worked for me no problems. If you make any grips, post photos!! PS - sorry for leaving this info out of the article, and thanks for asking!! Re: EVA dry time

The information on drying and the force needed to join the parts is in the article.
Because the CC is already dry when you join the pieces, there is no further drying time required. ................. Re: EVA dry time
