spin/fly rod

I intend to build a little light spin/fly combo using a 6'6" 4 piece 2 weight blank; ditching the butt section and using only the top three sections. I want this to be more for spin than fly. I will use a 8 inch cork with rings for the handle/seat but am concerned about the size of the guides. Should I follow basic spin guide placement/size principals or modify for fly purposes? I would appreciate any suggestions as to guide size/frequency for such a build-p-

We detailed the spin/fly rod in a past issue of RodMaker. If you set up for spinning, a fly reel will still work in that capacity.

you'll be surprised how well it will cast a fly line when the guides are set up for spinning.
