What are your thoughts on the new K series? Got a couple surf rod builds and can't decide between the K series and the YAG. I was wondering mostly about tangles. Any input would help.

If you are using thin line - i..e braid, it is tough to beat the K series.

With 20 lb mono, I can't image that you should have much looping problem with any guide.

If you do began getting loops, I would suggest that you need to get the line straightned, by running it behind the boat for a while with no terminal tackle on the end of the line. This will take out any line twists or loops that might have gotten in the line due to slipping the drag or having the line on the reel incorrectly.

It is your choice.

For surf rods ... definitely the "K" series over the "Y" series. The wind alone would be reason enough to use them, regardless of the diameter of the braid. ALL braided lines have a tendency to "kite" when given the chance.

if you have experianced winding knots on your outfits before, watch out for them with the K guides. Other wise they are pretty nice casting guides!
