Hi I 'm new to the forum, I am looking for a 8" one piece very light and sensitive blank with a nice backbone for soft plastic and light artificial lures 3/8 to 1oz for inshore stripers. I am going to set the rod as a split grip handle spinnig rod with micro guides, but I don,t know what size guides to use.
The rod will be matched with a V-150 or a 3000 Penn Battle with 30 pound braided line and 30 pound fluorocarbon leader. Any help or suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Re: 8" MH Spinning Rod

You might look at a "Hot Shot" blank.
I'd start here for a start on the guide set up: [www.rodbuilding.org] .............. Re: 8" MH Spinning Rod

It's 7'-10" but extend it out a couple of inches, the MHX MB941 should work out well. But if you'd prefer a more moderate fast action blank, I'd look at the MHX CB965. Re: 8" MH Spinning Rod
