Looking for a tip on cleaning the glue out of the little exposing window on an ACS reel seat, or any exposed blank reel seat. I've seen the suggested methods of pouring epoxy adhesive in the end, letting it set and then pouring it in the opposite end but this forces me to put the butt grip on last and from the bottom ( I'd rather ream it close to the blank taper and slide it down in place). I've tried my best to clean it out with paper towels and alcohol but I always end up with a slight shiney edge around the window that, to me, doesn't look so good. I'm concerned that I may be using too much alcohol. Any suggestions?
BTW, I'm using Rod Bond. Re: ACS window and glue

Hold the reelseat up and down. Insert epoxy in the bottom portion (below the window) and put Epoxy on the insert for the portion above the window. Insert and do not remove. Re: ACS window and glue

Tint the epoxy to match either the reel seat or the blank. This will create a shadow area that should be near invisible. Chris Richer Iroquois ON Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
