Hi all,
I would like to get some feedback as to what are the differences and similarities between the 4pc Batson RX8 and MHX fly blanks. Is one significantly faster than the other. Does one feel lighter in the hand than the other etc?? All I know is that they are both supposed to be quite a fast action and they are also a similar price at $120-130. I am keen to build a 5wt rod for trout fishing and later on possibly an 8 or 9wt, for an occasional trip to northern Australia. Has anyone had a cast of both of these side by side?? and did you prefer one over the other? And also, when they say 'fast action', how do both of these blanks compare to (say) a Sage Z-axis?? Both of the companies -I believe -have numbers on there blanks So you can get a very good idea of how fast they are and compare with CCS Bill - willierods.com Re: Batson RX8 vs MHX fly blanks

Just last week I ran the CCS measurements for the Batson RX8 XF906-4. The action angle was 70 and the ERN was 8. I'm expecting the ERN to come down slightly after I mount the guides but how much I don't yet know. Perhaps someone else can provide the CCS measurements for the comparable MHX or Sage blank.
